This week we read and discussed the novel Letters to a Young Writer by Colum McCann. It was interesting to read more about his different point of views on succeeding as an author. Each chapter expressed a different point and gave insight into what life is like as someone with a writing career. Additionally, it was helpful to hear McCann’s most important tips from my classmates although he isn’t speaking directly to college students like me. As a freshman in college, I am still growing as a student and receiving tips from a successful writer may make my journey smoother.
In addition to reading the novel, we spent some time working on our final paper. I talked with my partner about our ideas and I think we both received some helpful feedback. I’m excited to see where this paper goes and the type of presentation I create.
