Letter Writing and My Writing

On Letter Writing

When I think about the phrase “letter writing” and letters in general, I think about writing very personal pieces instead of typing them, and mailing them off to the desired person. As for right now, I think that’s letters are used to catch up with someone else due to lost time and to share feelings that are better written than said.

I am excited to read letters from decades and even centuries ago. It will be very interesting to read someone’s writing from the past and learn more about their experiences in a new way. Additionally, I hope to learn more about my writing style and how I can grow as a student writer.

I am concerned that I won’t be able to meet all the requirements and deadlines for assignments. I can tell that the assignments in this class will take time to complete and I’m afraid that I won’t be able to complete them as well as assignments from other classes.

On My Writing Process

The part of my writing process that I like the most is creating the first couple of sentences that draw readers in. It sets up the mood for the rest of the paper and helps me to keep writing.

I would like to expand my vocabulary within my writing. Sometimes I feel that I repeat the same words a lot and I want to eliminate that for my future essays.

I hope to be more flexible in my writing by being able to write creative pieces freely. I would also like to find my voice in my writing and to be able to separate my writing from others.
